We prioritize data privacy through our technical architecture. The App utilizes browser-native technologies and Client-Side AI (MediaPipe) to process Augmented Reality (AR) experiences.
- No Biometric Data Collection: All face, hand, or body tracking required for the "Virtual Try-On" mode is executed entirely on the end user's local device browser.
- No Video Transmission: Video feeds from the user’s camera are processed in real-time within the browser to overlay 3D models. No biometric or video data ever leaves the user's local device browser, nor is it sent to our servers.
2. Information We Collect
To provide our services, we collect minimal information from Merchants and End Users.
A. Information from Merchants (Store Owners)
When you install the App, we are automatically able to access certain types of information from your Shopify account:
- Store Information: Shop URL, store name, and basic contact details.
- Product Data: We fetch your product catalog via GraphQL to allow you to map 3D models to specific Product IDs.
- Asset Library: We store the 3D assets (files in .glb or .usdz formats) you upload to our database to render them in the AR viewer.
B. Information from End Users (Shoppers)
When a customer interacts with the AR features on your storefront:
- Camera Access: The App requests permission to access the device camera to enable "Spatial Mode" (room placement) or "VTO Mode" (try-on). This access is temporary and strictly for local rendering.
- Usage Data: We collect anonymous engagement metrics (e.g., number of AR sessions initiated) to display in the Merchant Admin Dashboard.
- Snapshots: If a user clicks the "Camera Snapshot" icon, the image is generated locally for the user to download or share. We do not store these images on our servers.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide the Service: Enabling the "Interactive Try-On" button, dynamic rendering of 3D models, and the AR overlay experience.
- Asset Management: Storing and retrieving your 3D models from our global database clusters.
- Improve Performance: Using "Edge-optimized hosting" (Vercel) to ensure assets load asynchronously without impacting PageSpeed scores.
4. Data Storage and Security
- Database: Merchant configurations and uploaded 3D assets are stored securely using MongoDB Atlas (Multi-cloud global clusters).
- Assets: Individual 3D models are optimized and stored to ensure high availability, but strictly contain product visualizations, not personal data.
- Transmission: All communication between the browser, the Shopify platform, and our servers happens over secure HTTPS encryption.
5. Third-Party Services
We utilize the following third-party services to power our infrastructure:
- Vercel: For application deployment and edge hosting.
- MongoDB Atlas: For database management and asset storage.
- Google Model-Viewer & MediaPipe: For rendering 3D content and performing local computer vision tasks.
6. Your Rights
- Merchants: You may update your product mappings or delete 3D assets directly through the Merchant Admin Dashboard (Asset Library). If you uninstall the App, we will delete your stored configuration data in accordance with Shopify’s data retention policies.
- End Users: Since we do not store biometric data or personal video feeds, there is no personal AR data to request or delete. The experience is transient and lives only within the active browser session.
